Friday night I dragged a mutual friend of mine that I met last year at a party out into the city, I wanted to go to a gig that my mate Andrew "Drewyz" McCleary was djing at Code Bar, but because Ive only ever been out clubbing once in my life and it wasnt an overly fun experience for me I wasnt in two minds, I knew I would enjoy it more with a friend to pull me out of my little anti social corner where I will more than likely sit in a corner or at a bar - though Drewy said I wouldnt be like that, he said I would be out on the dance floor having a ball - I on the other hand wouldnt agree to such an act...fortunately I was able to get my friend to go with me..! I think the whole me saying that if you dressed in theme there is a chance of winning bar tabs had him in...haha..! But the theme was Fluro White.....and i went and brought me an outfit especially for it...right down to some cool shows that I think are freaking awesome and fluro tights...
I decided that i wanted to go to the Auckland Chinese Lantern Festival, and lucky my friend did too...so we spent an hour or so here before walking down to the bar to go party....! I had such a fun night, and being able to see my mate Drewy in action finally was epic....Drewy is just pure entertainment to watch on the decks, he oozes passion and energy and he completely owns the decks....and engages the whole audience...Ive never really seen dj's playing before so its all a whole new experience for me...Ive had live bands in at work and a dj at a function but he was working solo with a laptop and when I think of djs I always think of the whole vinal record kind of thing...the scratching...so I guess technology has advanced in a way.
Def a high not to end on before going back to Uni next week..!
