The Edge Prize Pool Party

If you dont listen to The Edge FM then your missing out on ALOT of laughter....! Especially with Fletch and Vaughan! They never fail to make me laugh....

They had a prize pool party at Sky City....basically it was just that the hotel pool was filled with prizes...and they had to be dived in after...!! Was pretty awesome, I went up to check it out and to listen to Justin Sane djing....I had a little pre giggle on Facebook on Justin's Page with someone who was commenting on safety and how dangerous what they were doing was...and that people would die...so I said I would go down and double check they were behaving....we had a right laugh about it all at the end me and Justin...!

RIP Uncle Peter Withy

RIP PETER MICHAEL WITHY

7th May 1934 - 13th March 2010

Such a lovely service and a very large turn out today to my Uncle's funeral. My first funeral Ive been to where I have actually taken photos of it, I dont know why I did, but something about it made me want to capture the feelings....might scrap it. I also got to see the graves of my ancestors who came over from Wales to NZ...it was very surreal seeing their graves...Ive seen photos of them that are held at the Whakatane Museum.

It was a little mini family reunion in a way too! I told my Aunty Margaret (who is my Uncle Peter's sister as well as my Nana's) that we had to have a big family reunion again, we had one in 2002 a few months before my niece was born, she said it was a great idea, i said we will see you in two years for it then..!

RIP PETER WITHY

Been a bit of a rough day, I have spent it out with the crew from Unite Union (I will post a proper blog on this in the next few weeks or so..) I had a phone call from my mum asking me what time I was going to be home - we had known for a while that Uncle Peter wasnt doing well health wise, so it was expected to happen we were just waiting, mum had a call from her mum saying that Uncle Peter passed away. I had a little cry about it and decided it was time to head home to be with mum knowing she was close to her Uncle somewhat....

Unfortunately, I was driving my car which had its registration expired on it again...Im usually petty careful with this, and Im known to drive around for a couple of weeks until I can afford to renew my rego, I was waiting for money still to come through from the wedding invites I had done in Jan of this year...to pay for it longer than I usually go for - it was dark I was upset and I was travelling on a road that is having serious road works done on it, and I know that going into the city it is a 80km zone however I had never noticed that going south the other way it is 70kms....this isnt the first time Ive had this problem with roads having two speed limits in the same area but in different direction for example my first speeding fine - but out of no where a cop appear and he did me over big time, not even telling him I was on my way home to my mothers who just lost her uncle...he didnt really care, infact he was so rude he just dumped my ticket in my car window and drove off....he didnt even explain the conditions of how to go about paying for the fine - I was fined for speeding and for having no rego but given 14 days to get me rego and that would be wiped....though he didnt tell me I had to apply for that and stuff..!

I was so upset it took me a long time to start driving back home after being pulled over..I had to ring mum...usually Im one who tries to keep my fines away from her...! Just awaiting for funeral details to come through, Im partly excited about driving down to Whakatane to where my family is from....its going to be like a mini road trip..hehe...

Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends

We went and saw Thomas again this year at Glenbrook Steam Railway...!! We took the older two kids out, I wish we could have taken James, the first time we went my sister was pregnant with him....it would have been so cool to have taken him and seen the look on his face!! Last time we caught the train in, but this time I decided to drive out.

Ironically Michael reacted very simular to what he did in 2008 to the Fat Controller....lol..! Lucky I have some Thomas Paper left so I can scrap some of these pics....

Jamie is going to grow up to be a DJ!!

My nephew and me were going for a drive to Botany Downs the other week to pick up a belt for me to wear to Splash.....and I was playing a CD in my car by Dj Obiwan or something like that - its a random CD I found in my sister's room when she use to live at  home...I just kinda you know walked off with it to my room.....and havent given it back...I actually lost it for a few years...! But I found it again...!

But we were driving and next moment my nephew is sitting in his carseat in the backseat of my car dancing to the music...I had to tell Drew about it...so I tested him further on music and to some of Drewyz mixes....so this is the video I made just for Uncle Drew....his youngest fan dances to Drewyz Late Night Mix...!

Birthday Cards

Ok so Ive been just a litle busy - Im not very good at making cards, but after the last one I made for my boss in December that I was pretty proud of I have given it another shot this past week...with three birthdays in early March...two of my friends gourgous little girls both turning two and of course my mate Drewyz birthday....

This is Imogen's card - she LOVES the Wotwotss to death at the moment so I have made her a card to go with my girft which was an outfit with the WotWots on it - I would not have known what to have gotten her with out the help of Drewyz giving me an idea of the WotWots and then figuring out how much she loves them....worked out great...! I had to search all over the internet to get a picture of them, I had one that i coloured in but it didnt work out, so I eventually settled for this - its hard to tell in this pic, but the image is sitting up on foam tape, and there are litle rinestone gems on the knobs to their spaceship seats....

Next we have Aysha's card, I wanted to try a cupcake card, they seem to be the craze in cards at the moment so Ive seen on sites and stuff, again I googled to get an idea but couldnt find anything I liked fully, I have to say thank you to the Fiskateers I had one member who did cut out die cuts and scanned them for me to use as templates but I ended up drawing this one freelance and cut it out with my Fiskars USX. I then used a crimper on the bottom to make it look like it was in a cupcake paper. I was going to use a real one but it didnt work out...

Lastly is my card for Drewyz....I love this card, google really is my friend but it wasnt in trying to find a card that was DJ related...I knew what I wanted I just needed to find something to work from....I managed to find a picture of some turn table scratch card thingy...not sure what they really are but I liked the picture so I worked off that for my design for it - I had previously asked Drewyz what his favourite colours were without giving TOO much away to him on what i was doing, I did get his colours from him followed by a "Why's That?? To which I had to come up with some little white lie...! :p I wanted to make this card just a little bit interative..I didnt have any black brads so I had to emboss my gold brads I have with black embossing powder, however this isnt staying on fully....Infact Im not sure if I have seen black brads at that..! But it was a quick fix, and its all about being innovative right? I also embossed alot of the silver bits too....I made the turn tabe somewhat moveable....and I was able to write "Dj Drewyz and 45th Revolution Productions" on the turn table. Im pretty proud of this card....

Happy Birthday Poppa and Gummi

Happy 2nd Birthday to my Little Angel up in Heavan....and a Happy Birthday to my Loving Poppa who is up there looking after his beautiful Great Grandchild.

Today Gummi, you would have been TWO years old....sometimes I find it hard to imagine I would have had a little two year old running around the place, not a day goes by where I dont stop and think about you, sometimes me and Nanny will go out shopping and I will see something and I will say Gummi would have had this, or she would say aww looking this would have been good for Gummi...

I know your in a better place, and are being looked after so well by Poppa....he really is a loving kinda hearted gentleman, and even if you were alive today, I know he would have been guiding  you in every step that you would have taken, however that isnt the case, instead I now have BOTH of you watching over me and guiding me....and I also know that your up there with your Gran Gran...and that the two of you are watching over Daddy everyday and guiding him through his recovery after being sick and back into a happy healthy life again.

And I know you will never get bored, because you have Betsy to run around after, and Sid there to cuddle up too, just like he use to when you were inside mummy's tummy, and he would put his paw on my tummy to make sure you were ok. But you always knew that he was your Poppa just hidden away didnt you and Betsy was probably Gran Gran now that I think of it... :p

Both Daddy and I love you so very much my darling, and though we may not show it, or talk about you much to each other, deep down in our hearts you lie there forever....with a love that will never stop. You are what keeps us bonded even stronger even though we are no longer together.
