Master Chef NZ Cookoff!!

So Ive been following the first season of NZ's Master Chef Series....Im a big foodie working and studying in the industry, I live and breath this stuff..

I was so deeply guttered when I saw the episode that was at my work...I didnt even know they were filming....I kinda remember it but not really - I do remember the opening of the Great Ball Room....and I remember vaccummin it before it opened and all...for the big grand opening....(this was when it was half completed) but I yea...

Anyway its down to the final two and they had a live cook off at the new Countdown Supermarket in Manukau and I was soooo going to it - and I was glad I did, I more than made up for not working that shift....I was selected from the crowd to go up and cook with the finalist....was totally epic...!

RIP Jason Palmer

Im sadden by the news that my former friend Tracy's husband passed away suddenly. I remember when I first met Tracy and Jason and their children Riley and Abbey. Abbey was about 5 months old at the time, and it was 5 months after I had my miscarraige. Tracy was the one who told me to put together a mini memorial album for Gummi Bear, and I remember when I went over to their place in Whangaporoa, she showed me the little album she made of their baby they had miscarried before Abbey...I owed alot of the two of them, without them I wouldnt have gotten through those months after losing Gummi.

Abbey was the first baby I held since I lost mine, I remember that day, I struggled so much, I ended up crying and Jason took her off me and said it was ok that in time I would be stronger...he was right, I did get stronger for the next time  went over there I was able to hold Abbey with no problems. I use to love going over to their place for crops....Jason would always comment on what we had been working on when he came home from work....always postive supportive comments.

I will always treasure those two times I met him, and for knowing him, he was a very loving man. I think of what Tracy must be going through - it reminds me very much of when my good friend Rebecca McDonell lost her husband Regan in a MVA about a month before I met Tracy. It is from Bex that I also grew to understand death in a more artistic form......Bex created the Art of Grief and put out the Waves of Grief Exhibition....Bex is someone I would always refer people to to talk about Grief...

My prayers and thoughts are with the Palmer Family at this time...

RIP Jason.

Downtime Ft. Kidz in Space and Justin Sane

Ok I seem to know alot of djs now - partly thanks to Drew, but Ive learnt that alot of the boys that were at Papakura High with me are djs too....I think it was last month I was invited to a gig by Charles Wilkie from Blake and Goodwin but said I couldnt go, and I was hammered by Wills Myth for not coming..I promised them all that I would go to the next gig they both put on...lucky the next one was one where they were all together djing so I got me a pre sale ticket and went out to party and check them out.....Im not really a big party animal but im kinda slowly getting there - I feel like an under developed teen age girl going through late puberty haha..! Its kinda embarassing..!

So I rocked it down to Stampede in Papkura - I was a bit scared to go...not knowing what to expect and I was going all alone too, I had told Charles the same thing I told Drew at Splash, that i would sit in the corner being anti social but taking photos...haha CHARLES went that one step further and was telling me off through out then ight to get out on the dance floor..! Not once but twice..! He gave me sturn looks and pointed at me and the dance floor...and would laugh...I eventually did get out there...and by the time Justin arrived I was a bit more mellowed out and spent the rest of the night on the stage dancing with some complete drunken guys who had so much to drink they probably wont even remember the whole night...hahaha..

Without Music - there is no life..!
