ALLLLL ABOARD THE TRAIN!!! CHOOO CHOOO Chugga Chugga CHOO CHOO!!

My nephew sits there on my lap singing this as we are riding down through the railway lines upon Tod one of the steam trains at Glenbrook Vintage Railway in the Friends of Thomas the Tank Engine show they had on this weekend just gone.

I dont know how was more excited me or the kids...Ever since I started Uni and catching the train in, I have grown a new love for trains....watching them all at work in Westfeild...its rather spiffy and i get all excited If i get to see the steam train that is locked up inside a shed near the city....

It was only the other week when i was coming off the motorway on my way home from work that I saw a big cloud of smoke and a train slowly moving under the bridge I had just driven over...I knew then i had to go straight home and check out what there was to do when I go down to Kapiti - and fortunately there is a steam railway down there!

Their train was brought up for this show...

My nephew Michael was so excited about the whole thing, the moment we got off the train in Glenbrook he was decked out in a Thomas outfit and as we got off in come Thomas - THOMAS!!! he cried out, and it was none stop wheres my thomas...theres my thom thom i want to go on thom thom...of course when we actaully did go on thom thom is was a different story of Im Unwell...leave me alone Im sick...lol...and my niece just as much enjoyed it too...there were a few heated arguments which with a STOP FIGHTING from me they settled down...

My niece Meggan has her own Thomas set at home she got when she was a baby - when my sister was pregnant with her 6 yrs ago her heart beat would match and race agianst any trains coming in to Papakura when she was in having scans done through out her whole pregnancy...her first trip on a train was when she was just under a month old..we went into the city and had lunch at Burger King with her dad...

And Im sure my nephew "Charlie" (given that the scans arent wrong lol) enjoyed the family outting we had too....though "Charlie" couldnt SEE it all "Charlie" would more than lightly to have heard it all...

I love my fire engines to death though...but there is just something about steam trains......I dont know what...much like my thing for planes....perhaps its just my tomboy streak still in me from when I was growing up?? Lol


I cannot wait to make scrapbook pages from the photos i took - there were some awesome ones...Now I wonder where I can source the Thomas themed scrapbooking things from.... I know they are done by Sandylion...

Schools out!! Farewell Timmy Toe-Jams!!

I have finished all my exams for University! - UNIVERSITY yes I do love to say that word out loud again as much as I hate going there - but I love to boast about it to those few jealous people I know who couldnt accept me going there....perhaps you should take a page from the book of a customer I had come into my work during our graduations for uni who graduated in her 60's!! Now that is some damn pride there i tell you!

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I am soooo glad to have some time to myself now....when Im not at work that is! However got to go back into uni for handover day or what it is when we are givne our results go through our exams to double check it is all correct and that they havent been marked incorrectly - I do love my answer and I know Rob you will find this probably funny...hahah - Given that one of my lecturer did a piss poor job at teaching Accommodation Operations i answer two parts of the exam with THE LECTURER DIDNT COVER THIS SECTION FULLY IN CLASS SO DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS IS ABOUT!! Its all very well having expensive text books for it, and "studying" but here we are going to class to have her not even cover the parts fully but to spend like 2 hours covering it expecting us to have understood it first time round and then moves on to something else....and i like to think hmmm what have I learnt about accommodation (that i dont already know from personal experience and work expereince) Not alot at all! Infact some of what she said isnt true at all!! Like her saying there are no flights after midnight - pfffft then howcome when I am travelling home from work at midnight or 1am sometimes 2am I see planes coming in to land?? HUH!?? Yes....it also annoyed me that it seemed to focus more so on Hotels...and not any of the other types of accommodation out there, and the videos were WAY WAY WAY out of date...

However - goodluck to my friends and co workers who are still doing exams and are about to start exams....



My final shift with Timmy was last night- and I sooo desprately wanted to do a double and texted one of the newbie girls asking if I could do her shift - she said I was a saint and thanked me!! hahaha....so double with Timmy yayness!! Going to miss him so much - and I wish him all the best for his future at Prego and with his travels and stuff...I have so many fond memories at work of my time with Timmy....like when I had a massive arguement with him about coming inot work stoned...and me saying AT LEAST I DONT COME INTO WORK STONED!! And him putting the "I like little boys" sign on Justin's car...boy did he get ripped into for that...no one touches his baby - I was amused watching someone trying to parallel park in front of it on Sunday at work...wincing at them getitng close to hitting it - they gave up...we were pretty quiet at work to the point we were all standing outside watching the cars attempting to park...!

I ended up finishing my first half of my shift after a couple of hours and couldnt be bothered going home then coming back a few hours later for my second shift so I headed up to Latin Lader for lunch...had a scrummy toasted BLT...Mmmmm yummy!! Then about an hour later after texting Yazzy and Iain (whos in the Navy and has just resently moved from CHCH to AKL with them) I had a slice in the cabinet screaming Eat Me...EAT ME!!! And my wallet going NOOOOO!! Im empty!! EMPTY I SAY!! And Yazzy going DO IT!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!! To which I sat there for a good our confused to have Justin come up and check on me again I said the slice is screaming EAT ME!! EAT ME BRONWYN!! He said which one I said that one there second from the left....he goes over and get the third one from the left!! And brings it to me...to which I shrugged and ate....to have him come out and eat a danish seductively infront of me to make me laugh...Boy do I miss working with him! He had me laughing which was good considering I was feeling a bit depressed...

One thing I noticed was that Justin had BLUE buttons on his chef jacket and before I left to go to work I said to him I wanted blue buttons for my chef jacket! He said he would see what he could do for me...if i was a good girl...haha...I can not believe that Uni are charging 35cents EACH for black buttons - white ones were free with my jacket....I want black! I mean come on man! The white dont give it full dimension...



*Awesome things this week that happened*

*My baby brother Luke rang me from Gran Carnaria to see how I was and to let me know a post card was on its way..

*Bex rang to ask when i wanted my hair cut and set a booking for an hour after he call...so have a new hair cut now! :p

*Finished Exams and brought my chef jacket for next semester

*Big Boss Kissed up to me and greezed his way about with my new hair cut - haha still leaving mate!

*Went on a steam train ride (blog to come)

*Went to my first Crop night since July PHEW! Finished a page! Woot!

I went up to my niece's school to watch her do her production of the Hungry Caterpillar - I took some photos, though not good ones from the back of the school hall and with the darn stair rail blocking the view of my lovely baby girl...! However I took some photos of the two of us after she finished school...

I decorated my house up for halloween and fully expected no kids to come as the streets were dead, and the weather cold and overcast with rain on the way....however come 6.30pm they all started to come out...mum worked away on Meggie's outfit - sorry I didnt take photos of it as we didnt end up going out trick or treating with Mikey having been in for surgery for gromets in the morning...

We popped next door to Aunty Sue's who spoilt her rotten with the candy she had - too which I was informed our other neighbour had gone out to get candy though it was stated that by the time she got back it would be next halloween lol...its the thought that counts! We popped into another house up the road (funny enough the house i had been going to some years ago to see if they had mail of mine from Rob - hmmm yes I think that postcard may have been eaten by the postie my love! Along with my letter I sent you last year...haha) we then walked the rest of the way to her house with the dog...hey what better excuse to have the dog out for a walk...

I handed out most of the candy bags I made with a few bags that didnt have tags..I didnt expect to get 50 kids...but I did get 40! Thats impressive I say...left over candy is being taken to work to my coworkers from Brazil - since my candy is from Brazil...haha

A new adventure

TUESDAY

I spent finishing off my Marketing Assignment - I got to the point where I couldnt care any less on his it was right or wrong I just wanted the Evil thing out of my life! So long as I get over 50% on it I will be fine, as I already have enough marks to pass the whole paper.

I printed it of - a total of 20 pages! Drove into Uni and handed it in...sign sealed delivered...THANK GOD!! All that is left to do are my three exams which are NEXT WEEK!! Which I didnt realise was that soon! Im going to have to do some major study on Friday and in between my shifts at work...with the fact we are still short staffed at work and have a few more members leaving :o( I wonder what shifts I will have next week...if I will have any at all given what happened at work on Tuesday night.

I dont have an issue with travelling across the city to get to work - infact the more you do it, it doesnt seem that far away in the end...I end up rolling my eyes and giving a look when people ask where I live when Im at work - and having them go OMG THATS SO FAR AWAY!!! Its not!! I mean when I applied they asked if it was a problem I said not at all.

I was stuck in traffic Tuesday night - and so I was 20 mins late to work, which I will probably make up for tomorrow by being half an hour early probably...sometimes my boss doesnt believe me when i tell him I may be late for work - because i end up being there half an hour to an hour early for my shift...When I got into work I didnt have my manager tell me anything, she didnt tell me what was happening on my section which I am also told when I sign in by my boss or who ever is manager...I also check the dockets in the kitchen and the computer to see what is up on my tables...and do a scope of my section....my manager also didnt tell that the big boss was in - I didnt see him anywhere at all - he was sitting my section how I could miss him I have no idea....but from there it went down hill - to the point that he came up to me while i was putting orders through a table giving me a verbal warning right in front of everyone in the restaurant - all because I had told a customer I would be with them shortly....(which in my "training" session with him the other week he said is what we were to if we were occupied with something else, so long as we acknowledge the customer....and let them know someone would be with them shortly...) - hyporcritcal twat!! Then 10 mins later he pulls me into the kitchen door way and rips into me...planting me with my final warning saying he was sick of my attitude and stuff (funny how just a couple of weeks ago he was raving to me about how wonderful I was and smart and had this carisma he was mesmerised by and beautiful smile and yadda yadda yadda).

All my manger could say to me was find something to do - when everything I went to go do I had another staff member take over and not tell me she had done - she was interferring in on my bloody section and I HATE PEOPLE WHO DO THAT!!! Coz its me who gets the shyt for when things go wrong on my section even if i havent done anything on it...

I said to the chefs in the kitchen that this is the last straw at work - and I am over the shyt going on there now - I over having completely inexpereinced staff members who dont know anything - Ok yes I know we all have to start somewhere, but seriously people start out smaller and then go larger instead of diving in the deep in first into a busy upbeat fast paced place - Im so greatful i didnt listen to my lecturers at Tech when they told me to go work for a Hotel when I graduated, instead I started out small in a cafe and worked my way up...and that for me was the best thing I did with my career...I know you have to start from the bottom up - Kitchenhand to be a Chef (check done that) - Glasswasher (so they claim) to be a Bar Manager - Food Runner to be a Sernior Food and Beverage Attendant (yep done that too - pretty much any job in a restaurant I have been in have had me as that so I am aware of the meals and what they look like and stuff) - we have a few people in on Visas whos english isnt very good and my Big Boss is being very racists and discriminating now saying we need more of them working there and so well they are bringing in all of their friends who havent long been here and are looking for work.... and to add to that we have alot of newbies in who are either still in high school or have just resently dropped out with no qualifications, have no experience and are beerly legal to consume and buy alcohol!

I had one of the chefs tell me - but you just told Big Boss that you wanted to be here (yes this is true but had I said no, or anything at all he would have kicked me out and fired me on the spot there and then - I would like to see him try - I will take him for it...) - the rest of the chefs - particularlly the head chef told me I should go into a hotel - I said that is what I want and where I had been originally and really miss it...and i have so many people telling me this to go back to being in a hotel....that they will look after you much better (tis true they do...) he said he was going to talk to a head chef at a hotel down in Whangamata....my eyes glazed over at the talk of getting out of the city...

Even though my night started out crud with my big bos - I stayed till closing, shared a brownie with my manager even though she can be two faced at times...(wont be suprised if she puts in a complaint *rolls eyes* meh)

I am writing up my resignation letter - and its just a process of pushing me one step too far now to have it handed over and moving on to somewhere where I will be used for what I have to give and stuff - Im over....I hate having to do this when we are so short staffed, and after Ive told my boss what seems to be on a weekly and sometimes daily basis that I will be there to pull him through Xmas and New Years before I leave...and I know my boss appreciates what I do, he told me that the other night, that he is greatful for the hard work I am putting in, covering everyones shifts when they dont turn up or decided like last min to change shifts and that he can call me and I will come in...

ARRRGGGGHHHH - Its really doing my head in big time - I mean come on we have a boy behind bar who has dropped out of high school last month or so he cant remember he told our big boss - he has no expereince at all in the industry let alone any in bar - ok I dont have a huge amount but come on at least I have Host Responsiblity and have actaully got a qualification that has that in it!




WEDNESDAY

I spent the day talking with Jade and planning my holiday in Kapiti Coast - sooo excited hahaha - i cant wait! ONE MONTH till I go down..Im looking forward to my road trip and getting out of the city - I havent forgiven my big boss for taking over the roster last month when i had requested time off for a holiday to get out of the city and making me work...and he wonders why I havent been doing well at work - because I havent had my annaul breaks away that ive had going for a few years now that I started up back with Rob. BUT anyway, so I was talking with Jade abou what we are going to do and Ive been looking at my handy dandy website that I swear is a good send to me with my studies at Tech and Uni it should be too probably I dont know but Ive also used it for my holidays away especially Blenheim - yes Rob that is how I found the Cherrylea Motel and all the other things down there hehehe - http://www.tourism.net.nz/ One thing I also look at when I go away is Horse Trekking - how ever in this occasion that probably wont be happening...all good though...

We are looking at museums and zoos - because I have an addiction to them and thats what me and Rob do when we go away and stuff...but Im also looking at some fun cool things for Rhiley to do....I can not wait to see him again I havent seen him since he was 6 weeks old or so...he puts a smile on my face, Jade sent me a video of him dancing and I watch it when Im down because it makes me laugh and smile at how clever and smart he is for his age...

We discussed about when I was coming down with the possiblity of me changing dates to come down earlier - meaning working the lunch shift and then heading down after work and arriving there at about 9pm or 10pm at night...(since its about a 6 hour or so drive) - which she said is alright then we can spend friday doing local things saturday doing things in Wellington and Sunday and Monday doing something else. I have been told to bring the scrapbook page i made of Rhiley a few months ago down - which I will be, and I said I will bring all my scrapbooking stuff so we can work on things... :p With me leaving early Tuesday morning to go to my evening shift at work...

I made tags today for on my packs of lollies im giving out for halloween this year - I spent $30 on halloween decorations!! hahahahaha

I also saw Transit Van on my way out today that was from Rob's work... :p Yes it was it had your work name on it!!

Im not sure if we are going trick or treating this year or not as my nephew goes in Friday morning to have gromets put in, and Meg has been invited to a part down her streets but she doesnt want to leave aunty on their day - i mean this is our day together its like a mini celebration before her bday the next day....Thursday my niece is going to a funeral for a friend of hers...

This weekend her reading buddy passed away to cancer at the age of 12 - it broke my heart being woken up and being told my niece went to school telling her parents and teachers she was never reading again...it was tough day for her as they had reading with their reading buddies but Meggan's wasnt there....I didnt know what to do for this and texted a co worker whom I know has a 7 yr old niece...and I aksed what do you do!?? This girl is my life and she is so smart and bright has been since the day she was born...he told me to tell her she had to keep reading to remember the fun times they had reading...when Meg came home today - well to my house after school and before going to Pippins she came in and gave me a big hug and that lasted for about 5 mins...I said to her that her reading buddy isnt gone - that she is still here she just cant see her - that she is with Gummi Bear and is free from pain and not sick anymore - and to keep reading, that she is up there proud of her and can hear her reading...i also said that when she gets older and better at reading she will be able to read a big book and just fad away into the life that is in that book - like I do....nothing like reading a book and not putting it down at all....and to getting out of bed :p

Speaking of Books - Rob I recommend Kathy Rieches....GO!! Read her books...so much better than Patricia Cornwell that say in her reviews (Im reading one of Patricia's books a the mo - if only i could stay away reading it)




Ok well Ive been completely distracted from this blog entry by a mate who is grilling me and having a big heated debated discussion about why I am not with the love of my life....im banging my head against my laptop at everyone who keeps asking me that....

IM OVER IT ALL!!! STOP HASSLING ME ABOUT MY LIFE!! I will do as I damn well like, I will eat what i like, I will drive what ever I like, I will drink what i like, I will kiss and hug and hang out with who ever I like, I will talk to who ever I like, I will work where ever I like, Study what ever I like an where ever I like ,I will live where ever I like, I will go and do as I please as I like........ BUT THERE IS NO WAY IN GOD DAMN FUCKING HELL I AM GETTING RID OF MY BESTEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!

I dont give a damn what anyone thinks.....My life I do what I want....and if anyone wants to be in my life they will accept that - and will accept that My Bestest Friend in the whole wide world, is a package deal with me!!!! I dont care if you are a boy or girl - that is how it is....You buy one you get one free, two for the price of one - needs ROBERT AND BRONWYN batteries to operate pull the tab to activate batteries...



I am going to bed - and tomorrow I will have a special blog written just to a special person...

Monday 27th October

Hello and welcome to Labour Day in NZ - one of the best days to work!! I begged well not so much begged but asked my boss last week if I was working Labour Day and he said he hadnt got that far with doing rosters and i said brilliant Im working Monday!! He said fine...and for those who take holidays when its public holidays when your work is still open you fools!!! Not only do you get stuck in traffic of everyone trying to get out you miss out on TIME AND A HALF PAY!! I had one of the newbies (who lives just down the road from my bestest friend Roberto's parents house and has a friend who lives next door to them) ask me when I was on next yesturday to which I said tomorrow she goes that sucks its a public holiday I said oh no my dear! Its time and half pay!!! She was like what do you mean and I said public holidays you get time and half pay when you work... to which she said awww man stink..I said haha enjoy your time in KeriKeri then...

I welcome my shift tonight at work with my time and half pay - though I am curious how the surcharge is applied to bills today - must ask my manager or boss how that happens as I havent processed any bills on public holidays before.

It seems right when I thought I had some time to do some other things that I havent had time for that it all gets fulled up again!

Classes have finished for Uni for me now - and Im a bit sad that I dont get to go to IT anymore I was having so much fun playing around in Fidelio! And I will miss my lecturers for Academics and Marketing - however I will NOT miss my Accommodations lecturer or that class - she totally has put me off that section of Hospitality completely - though I do miss the hotel environment alot....however Im not sure how I will go about getting a job there....its something I will think about later....not right now. I would hate to do the whole Im leaving!! stink at work, especially when I have told my boss I will pull him through Christmas and New Years.

I have booked in my holiday for next month!! Yayness!! I can not wait for my Road Trip down south to see my best friend and my gorgous nephew who puts a smile on my face!! I havent seen him since June last year, I was meant to see him this year, but flights were delayed and parking was clocking up big time at the airport waiting and no fucker would tell me where the flights were or anything.....soooo November is a busy month - I have three exams, I have my former supervisor from my old job's birthday party boat cruise, I have a couple of crop nights and I then go away on the 28th of November down to Kapiti Coast...

I still remember the first time we met me and my best friend Jade - both Rob and her husband Connor werent impressed with our meeting each other - two complete strangers and in the hours leading up to meeting and arriving at the church where we were meeting, they were both talking us out of it in some way and debating it - to all of which we replied oh but we have seen each other on webcam!!

Monday Night - the aftermath - well I walked into work regretting begging to work it as it turnt to custard the moment I walked in the door. I am sick of people asking me what is going on on tables when I havent even been to them, or when they have just sit down, and people like to ask it right when Im going to put orders through and so I forget what I am doing, especially if i havent written it down, I dont write down all of my orders....the big ones I do...but not simple ones....

I was also battling with my nerve problem which decided to go down into my legs again....and I had a few arguements with the chefs...nothing new there lol....I couldnt be anymore greatful when my boss told me to clock off for the day...We were pretty dead and had to many staff on...

Its hard work when your the only girl on with a whole pile of boys sometimes....it can be either a good day with laughs and stuff or a testonerone war feild with arguments left right and centre - as we had on Monday Night...(even though I wasnt the only girl on, though I dont know why that co worker came in for when he name was removed off the roster for monday...)

Updated finally - I did some crafting!! ZOMG!!

OMG!!! Lol

Ive actually done something crafty!!! For the first time in how long now?? hahaha - with just one assignment left to finish or well start...(its just a process of copying and pasting from the first two parts and tweaking a few things) and 3 exams I am almost finished with Uni for the year...or semester which ever you want to call it...then I can finally catch up on all my long awaited scrapbooking!! WOOT!!

Eh with good time and hard work it all pays off and you get to have fun at the end....

I welcoming November the 7th when it is allllll over - and then I can go to my crop nights that i have booked into at Scrapping Downunder (after missing how many lol that I had booked and forgot about but said to give my seat to someone to keep warm and tell em all I missed them...)

I made some tags to go with my RAKs which are in the mail now.....I had fun and cames trying to pack them - I had the lady at the post office trying to put them in the bag and Im like NO NO NO BECAREFUL!! Thats expensive scrapbook paper!! Why cant you people design packaging of this size!!??? If you so much as bend that paper I wont be happy!! I had to take the package apart and put it all in separetly....ANYWAY i have it all sent off now in transit...Soooo keep an Eye on your Mailboxes Karen and Meliss in the next week. i was muffled as to why they put the international ecomony sticker on the bags when Ive always put the Par Avoin (cant spell) stickers on them... :S who knows lol.

I also played around with the Fiskars Template I was sent from Tarama in a RAK the other week - and sent my creations down to Kerri....to be kind..lol....they arent that great but I was only playing around...

I have plans to make xmas cards and xmas crackers - I need to find a template for xmas crackers...hmmmm

I also want to make mini tag things for halloween to put on my candy packs im giving out...but meh soooo little time to find what I want in!! Im not interested in waiting for an auction on Trade Me to end...let along playing and expensive amount on something...
