Happy Halloween!!!

Its my favourite time of the year again!!!

HALLOWEEN!!!

Im so excited too because to night my best friend Luke comes to New Zealand for a week...!! He flies in at 1am!!  He has been on his OE since early on this year - he left England just when Eyjafjallajokull erupted in Iceland. The eruption delayed his flights to Thailand, but over the past few months or so he has traveled all through South East Asia and is currently working down in Australia living with family...and the much long awaited arrival and meeting of each other has finally come - Luke has always promised me he would come and see me and visit me...he always promised me that we would go clubbing and get drunk one night...it was always a dream...sometimes they were real dreams we would have....but now its becoming a reality!!

Anyway - taking my nieces and nephews out trick or treating again this year, and decorating the house - I always say every year I will be more prepared for customes and stuff but every year Im not, in actualy fact its really hard to get halloween things in New Zealand now, they seem to only have it out for a short time, Christmas stuff is brought it just on Halloween....and Halloween isnt as big as it use to be - thank god for my trusted Asian Import Dollar stores they sometimes have things in them..!! We saw a little outfit we would of love to have got for my niece Emma for halloween but it was so expensive instead we decided to make our own version of it. I think it came out very well..!! The cheap asian stores are really good for customes especially the likes of spider man...now I really thought Michael would want to go as Ben 10...but nope he wanted to go as Spiderman, and I was lucky enough to find a cheap one at the dollar store for him - little did i know that my sister also got him one too (so mine went back for a refund) - with it being Meggan's birthday on the 1st its sort of like her birthday gig this year we decided she would be a gothic alice in wonderland...poor Meg doesnt really know what she wants to dress up as, she wants to be the same thing every year sometimes...so we got her a dress and leggings which doubled as her birthday present and clothes she could wear everyday......and little James well he knocked his tooth out early on this year so we decided he would make a great little farmer...!

As for decorating the house? I went with a little theme of a murder house....I brought some bloody body parts, an arm, some fingers, a brain and heart. There was also a big plastic sheet I put across the front door with blood splatters and bloody hand prints all over it. I would of loved to have gotten a head that had been cut off at the neck and was all blood but I just couldnt afford it..! I also used left overs from other halloween decorations I have used in the past, my hanging pumpkin and bat spiral things, I brought some new tinsel - and put my signs up on the gate and hung my ghost up and all sort of others little pictures I have.

For candy I made little Coffin Boxes - I got the template from off Martha Stewarts Website and reduced it down a little bit, inside these I put an eyeball lollie (marshmellow with jelly centre) and a little plastic skelton. I also had other body part lollies that i handed out....Im very selective with whom I give candy too haha - there were also some brain shapped packets of popping candy that I gave out.

I cut trick or treaters off for candy at about 8pmish when its starting to get a bit dark and sadly some prick nicked off with some of my decorations in the last lot of trick or treaters we had..! I mean honestly who steals a fake bloody chopped off finger?? I would hate to think what kind of sicko you end up as when your older....!!
