One lucky last pic for my table setting for the Culinary Comps this weekend...!!
These are the cookies that my mummy kindly made for me - she made the Sugar Cookies and cut them out and baked them then I iced them and made the little tags and bagged them all up..!! We had OODLES of mixture left over and cookies....I made a couple of extra ones to give to a couple of my lecturers as thank yous :o)
Well that was a fun road trip....!! Got to sit down and have a good chat with my mate....he is absolutely amazing...! Its very rare to find a guy with such a big heart as what Drewy has...he is a kind, caring and honest person and I love how I can freely talk to him about anything thats on my mind....minus one little subject hehe...
I stayed at a place called Kings, and it was awesome, the food is so good, its like being at home...and the staff are so friendly, and they look out for you.....going over and beyond expectation, its like a little family and your warmly welcomed into it. I just wish I could have stayed longer..! One day I will go back again, save my money up...
My mate Drewy was djing there and kicking off the weekend to Ohakune Mardi Gras....which I wasnt attending....Im not fully into the whole clubbing scene and stuff....who knows maybe next I will go to it and see what it is all about..I dont know.
I had for my lunch/dinner Chunky Winter Vegetable Soup with Garlic Bread....it was so good...! Dont know why people were saying it was too healthy.....such rubbish...! It was so good that I didnt need to add any salt and pepper to it....then later on I had Lemon Creme Brulee with Coconut Cookie and Blueberry Compot, I love my Brulee....its the second best dessert next to Chocolate Mousse...ok third if you also bring Tiramasu in.....Ive yet to come across a killer Tiramasu.....!
I went down for a break before the culinary comps and a breather....i havent been out of the city for almost two years, I was meant to go to Kapiti but sadly that fell through....so guttered...! I was looking forward to seeing my bestest friend Jade and my two gorgous curtisy nephews. Will just have to replan that one..!
However since returning to Auckland I have been sick as a dog, my eyes are all itchy and watery.....my nose is runny but not enough that I have to blow it.....and Ive been sneezing like nothing...! Ive been feeling really tired and minorly depressed. The allergies started kicking in when I actually left Auckland....not long after I left we had a heat pump installed...so I came home to that running...Im partly blaming it....how I feel, I feel like this at work when I have been in The Great Room for too long with the air con on....
Im damn lucky to get a room for this friday night so I can see my awesome mate...haha..! I tried telling him I wasnt coming due to having a toe infection (its true I have an engrown toe nail and I have been put on rest and am due to have surgery on the 12th July to have a wedge of the nail taken off...) but Drew turnt around and told me to Harden Up.....I can never lie to the man...he knows me too well to know when Im telling a lie or at least a story to try and work my way out of a situation lol...!
But its Mardi Gras weekend and accommodation is pretty much all book, tickets are selling fast - not that Im going to it....maybe next year I will....dont really know what its about...think its all music and drinking up on Mt Ruapehu..
I had training today at Uni for the comps.....and I had to kill a good 4 hours after that before I went down to see Drewy djing at Supre....I was determined to get some good photos of him....which I did and Im pretty stoked with them, so much I was able to put together a pretty decent collage..Drewy loves these pics...Im loving Sepia tone at the moment...
Drewy is amazing to watch, his energy and passion for djing just comes through when he is behind the decks...he has so much movement in him...he captures the audience....I loved watching him scratching for some young fans...they were totally loving it....
I also took some photos while I was out from around Mission Bay and St Helliers which ive still to make into a collage..it was a gorgous day with the sun out...mint..! And getting to see my talented mate....just topped it off nicely...he always knows how to put a smile on my dial..! Aww yea..!! haha

Ok I have kept this one well hidden but here are some of the things I have put together for my table setting this year - I wont post any of the training pics....but I will post the actual setting when I come to competing with the results....Im confident enough after last year that I can get my table set up with enough time left over....
This year I am doing a Baby Shower Theme and my colours are Pink and Brown...so cute...and yummy..! Kinda going with my colours i used for my dress and mask for my work xmas party last year..!
