Mini Golf with Meggie Boo

Jan 29th 2009

So my Meggie boo had a few vouchers for mini golf she had won last year and it was promised that Aunty Bronwyn would take her out to play...and the vouchers we're both due to expire and so the last day of the school holidays we used one and played mini golf.

I learnt the moment I walked in there once your a McAulian your always a McAulian and your spoted out of in the crowd like a sore thumb as the say......lol. The girl who served me knew i was familiar and asked me where I liked and I told her and she said a number code and I said no....she goes oh you look familiar I said to her "McAuley??" She goes to me thats it!!

So Meggie got to pick which course we did and she picked the black course which is actaully aprently the hardest course! I have no idea how to play Mini Golf (Renee from work thought this was funny as..haha) and so I just made up numbers of the score card! Lol the whole point was to have fun...

After we finished playing we went to the airport to look at the planes to find they dont have the look out anymore - so we went up the road to one of the side of the road and watched the planes coming in to land and taking off..I promised my niece that one day I will take her on a plane somewhere...

I have the photos printed off ready for a double page layout for this day - now to just track down where I put the score card thingy too..

Well that was a bit of a boring week at work - thankfully its starting to pick up a bit at nights...

Monday lunch saw us with 3 fire engines, one from Takapuna, one from Devonport and one from Birkenhead, an Ambulance, and a couple of cop cars on Hurstmere Road across at the apartments - who knows what was up but their alarms were ringing, and the boys (and ladies if there were any) were all out full decks with tanks and all breath equiptment - it stopped traffic...but not enough as what it did a year ago when we had a big fire in our kitchen at work!

Tuesday morning saw an Ambulance rush down the Promenarde, and the same thing on Friday lunch and Saturday Dinner...all down the same street...! Nothing exciting ever happens on Hurstmere Road...lol...unless you count the guy who slammed his breaks on at the crossing and me looking to see what it was for to see a co worker "Bobble Head or Big Bird" he has two nick names - coming across the street...

Also on Tuesday I drove past my best friend who works up the road twice....lol texting him going I SEE YOU!! And him going where...to which I replied where...to have him confirm it was him... :P My best friend whom is the reason I work on the lovely North Shore...

Thursday I had a text from one of my managers saying it was his 30th - HAPPY DIRTY 30s DARLING!!! Saying he was having drinks at Takapuna Bar....I was contemplating going and would only go if I knew of any of my other co workers who were going...(I mean this is me having to drive all the way to the shore for no work related things knowing full well people would have a bitch at me about lol - honestly you lazy sods its not that far away at all!! It is the same distance to West Auckland or East Auckland from South Auckland!) - so it was off to the shore I went..I pulled up at the Copper Room by some of my co workers - it must say it was rather superising seeing one of my managers drunk....to think at least I wont be at work the next day with a hang over..nothing like being professional at work... hahaha - anyway so we wondered off through the teeny boppers crowding the bars on Hurstmere Road down to Takapuna Bar....where more of us from work were gather...I hada cranberry juice shoved in my hand...with a snid comment from one of the chefs calling me a pussy - Im not a pussy Im just being a good girl right now and not drinking...not when I had a double the next day at work and was driving...Im not that stupid.

I was greeted with a big hug from the birthday boy - whom I havent seen for a couple of months due to him going back to Brazil for a holiday - Im patiently waiting for my postcard that he sent me.....I gave his present which he opened and had to show everyone - it was field day for all the gay guys....hahahaha....he chowed down on his choccies from me...

I had a minor bitch at the bar, who werent serving any food at all and it was just after 9pm - knowing full well its against Host Responsiblity and the Liquor Act...(see I did learn something from that paper 4 yrs ago) - the guy at the bar mumbled something and walked away.....so a few of us went over to the road to Pita Pit - Pita Pit is a palce that has open resently, basically its a bit like subway only you have Pita Bread Pockets instead of Subs....and well its crap! Their meat is very fatty...and there is no taste at all....I wont be going back there any time soon! I gapped it back to South Auckland by 1am....so I could get some shut up eye before my double the following day....

I really hope business starts picking up more on the street...only a month and half left of work then Im back into my diploma...really need to focus on Uni more this year than I did last year - especially if I want to get the same high grades I got last semester...to prove to them that I can make it through...and when I am up there getting my Diploma I will give all my lecturers and heads of school the one finger salute who thought i would crash and burn in my first month there...I made it through one semester at your money scamming hell hole and Im still going!! You cant get rid of me that easy!! Im really looking forward to when I get to graduate....YAY!! Its only a year and half away...or two...we will say two to be safe...I have four paper per semester, and I have elective papers on top of those....and the possiblity of summer school...so I can either cut my time or increase my time...

Either way, I cant wait till I get to wear the cape and hat and get my DIPLOMA....and shove my middle finger to the world and all the losers and tosses...thats you too Mr. Stalker!! At having gone to University....after having all my class mates from McAuley Girls bitch at me about not being at University after I finished high school, and being at tech instead.....hows that??

Broken Strings

Ok so I was sitting here online the other day - and my darling Robbie D signed in online and i sent him a huggle message knowing he would be busy or disappear offline in a few seconds or so later...lol I know him to well like that!! hahaha - he sent me a message saying he was busy which I already knew and guessed and then sent me a song file and of course the title of it wasnt showing not until it had sent complete when I squealed in joy and excitment that his new fave song was also my new fave song!!

The song is called Broken Strings by James Morrison featuring Nelly Furtado.

Me and Rob have a love for her music...there have been a few songs that we relate to and I have been sent - one is Te Busque which is a Spanish song, that use to make him think of the two of us and of when we lost our baby...I have the english and spanish words to it in Gummi's memorial album I made...because of that sybolic meaning it held back then...

Most of my songs I have of Nelly Furtados have infact been sent to me by Robbie - he knows my music taste to a T! He knows that any song he sends me I will like - which is great - we dont have that problem when on Road Trips of what music we are going to listen too...we will both be happy singing alone to it...(For Example we dont have the problems I have of Mega in the back seat leaning forward while your driving changing the damn radio station while your driving - DONT FUCKING TOUCH MY RADIO!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE SLAPPED - Thats the rules we play by and Rob and I know those rules in our cars lol) - but its just great - Music does speak so much, real true music...that has feeling and meaning to it...even when your out dining and I find this at work - it sets the mood...even for staff memebers, sometimes we have Music playing at work that makes me soooo depressed and I just cant be arsed doing anything but when we have some good stuff playing (funny enough the stuff that Dom doesnt like us playing) is what really gets me going at work....I love it when Andrew and me are closing up and he puts Michael Jackson of U2 or something good on..the whole mood changes for us...

Anyway when I heard Broken Strings the first time I thought of the two of us, and its very heard when your listening to some songs and knowing their meanings....and thinking of those things...its never easy letting go of someone you love so much..in which case we do...very much...probably why we are still in each others lives still after 5 yrs...we have gone through alot. From what Ive heard and read about this song - ALOT of people thinks its a sweet cute love song - its not...its about breaking up...its about breaking up when you dont want to...but you have no other option as much as you love that person...and the song is about them loving each other so much...and yea...you got to lisen to it...and read the words and find the meaning behind it... You will have to search it on YouTube - I cant put a video up due to copyrights on the videos...and they all have enabled embedding!

Broken Strings - James Morrison ft. Nelly Furtado

Let me hold you for the last time
It's the last chance to feel again
But you broke me now I cant feel anything

When I love you
It's so untrue
I can't even convince myself
When I'm speaking it's the voice of someone else

Oh it tears me up
I tried to hold on but it hurts too much
I tried to forgive but it's not enough
To make it all okay

You can't play on broken strings
You can't feel anything
That your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell you something that ain't real

Oh the truth hurts
A lies worse
I can't like it anymore
And I love you a little less than before

Oh what are we doing
We are turning into dust
Playing house in the ruins of us

Running back through the fire
When there's nothing left to say
It's like chasing the very last train
When it's too late (too late)

Oh it tears me up
I tried to hold on but it hurts too much
I tried to forgive but it's not enough
To make it all okay

You can't play our broken strings
You can't feel anything
That your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell you something that ain't real

Oh the truth hurts
And lies worseI can't like it anymore
And I love you a little less than before

But were running through the fire
When there's nothing left to say
It's like chasing the very last train
When we both know it's too late (too late)

You can't play our broken strings
You can't feel anything
That your heart don't want to feel
I can't tell you something that ain't real

Oh the truth hurts
And lies worse
I can't like it anymore
And I love you a little less than before

Oh and I love you a little less than before

Let me hold you for the last time
It's the last change to feel again

God Im so fat in this pic lol...need a major updated one!

The difference between the two stars...

Ok so on Sunday I had a table of 16 in at work...it was meant to be 8-10 but it ended up being 16 and I dealt with it very well, got their drinks and food orders through and cleared it all off and then once I had finished with them and they were paying I was able to sign off and go home for the day...

It was while I was in the bathroom just coming out that I had a lady go to enter the toilet and asked me as I was washing my hands if I was Jewish I looked in the mirror and said no Im Wiccan...and I knew full well she had seen my pentagram necklace....she told me they were all Christians and Im like oh cool cool...and she went into this big huge bible bash and I hate it when people do that - Ive studied different religion in Religious Education during high school I may not have come first in RE (well partly because I wasnt a good little Catholic and refused to say pray when asked too...and she should have learnt nothing would budge me into going back to being a Catholic come my final year I spent at that school not even some of my best friends telling me come back to God Bronwyn...would work) and yes anyway I have a big respect for any faith and religion - I mean I work in Hospitality and I study it too...and Ive studied Tourism as well and have worked in the sectors..I have to have a respect for religions and for cultures...

Its one thing meeting people with different views and opinions, but its another thing when you push it so much onto someone...that is wrong! Completely wrong...! Sure its fine to educate, but not when its not wanted, you have to want it...your religion calls to you...and this lady telling me to ask God for my calling again is wrong...because its not me...and believe me, Ive gone from being a Roman Catholic...(nothing will take away those records in my church and my certificates up on my wall saying I am one) to Wicca and then a stint being Secular Humanist till I learnt Wicca was my calling...

I have bestest friends who are Chrisitans...so deeply too...it doesnt stop me being friends with them, Ive gone to my nephews dedication mass...both me and Rob went..even though we arent deeply religious...and we sit on a similar path..(and I swear thats not what drew me to Rob him saying he would take me to the store in Devonport....it was his eyes that I was drawn into awwwww) - but yea...I even had my close friends wife look to me one day when a group of kids from their sunday school asked where babies came from because she didnt know what to answer...to which I replied God will tell you one day...

Anyway - to finish this off....and because Im kinda over people coming up to me in malls and stuff asking me if Im Jewish.... Im not...! Im WICCAN AND PROUD OF IT!!

A good week - WOW!!

So this past week was pretty good! The summary follows.

MONDAY:

I clocked in at work and was given the money to go to the bank with to get our change for the tills, I love this job for some reason lol. It was when I came back that my manager told me the police had rung looking for me. She told me their name and Im totally lost on it going WTF!? Are you sure....my brain is ticking over going OMG who could it be, could it be some nasty person with a grudge against me causing trouble again....surely its got nothing to do with my small debt I am sorting out with WINZ...It must be a prank...its got to be....no Police would just ring up looking for me and then say they would send a squad car down to the bank to get me - how could they when they dont know which bank I was at...and believe me there is one of every bank in Hurstmere Road! My heart races and I texted Rob, Yaz, Shann and Justin...mentioning it - Yaz replied with a OMG! Rob with a Tell them to get F'ed (is policy after my trouble I have in 2007 with an unsworn cop doing an unwarrented background check on me..) and I had a missed call from Justin.....I asked my manager which station, and what their position was....she told me it just Takapuna Police....Im like they wouldnt call like that I know Ive dealth with big bosses at police staitons in the pass who have rung me for things....suddenly the phone rings at work Im like ahaha thats probably the "police" and I answer and there we go...I knew the voice and Im like alright he's just taking the piss out of me because I told him....only it turns out my darling former co worker from up the road was pranking me! I can not believe he got me again!! The last prank he pulled on me was getting me to put orders through and giving me the numbers and one was for a gentlemen's club! I must say it was a crack up - he did it knowing full well my manager would talk - and it was funny enough that when he rang and said he would send a car down that a real cop car went past (a week later and we are still finding it funny)...

TUESDAY:

It was a pretty quiet day at work, Im at this stage guessing its going to be like this for another month or so - perhaps till after Waitangi Weekend...who knows...my big boss was in the kitchen with the new head chef, and it was just me and the boss on the floor. I had removed the old menus out ready for the new ones to go in, and cleaned the chairs all down in and outside the restaurant. I had set up the soapy water bucket up outside for the tables outside, and wipped the bar down and taken a few phone calls while my bosses were in a meeting. It was while I putting the new menus in that I suddenly broke out in a sweat, and had a pain going through my tummy and chest, and wanted to be sick and was extremely dizzy - I went to the bathroom but came back out...I needed to be off the ground...I came out and my boss saw me and asked me if I was ok I said no that I felt dizzy...he looked at me and said sit down...(he was in the middle of updating the computers with the new menu) and I ended up sliding down the wall onto the ground....I freaked the poor guy out..he grabbed a chair and helped me up into it and then rang my mum to come get me...he then transfered me to the booth seats...and left me there for half and hour checking on me in the middle of doing other things...after an hour I was back on my feet feeling fine...thankfully it was pretty quiet and we only had a few people come in after I collapsed on him....my mum finally came and took me home (my sister came with her to take her car back in order for my car to be taken back) and yea...Ive since learnt that my Great Aunty passed away around the time I collapsed... - nothing like bringing a bit of excitment to a boring day at work I say..!

WEDNESDAY:

ANother boring day, my manager wasnt going to let me sign on, she was convinced I was sick and shouldnt be at work and brought someone in as back up which was a waste as I managed to get on just fine at work..most of us had met up together at the Grange for a few drinks, and those of use that werent working or had finished went off to our co worker Philippe's for his farewell party! And that was a blast...we had a big juggling show from his ex's wife's husband....with fire pois and all...and I had my Jan edition of the NEXT maggie signed by Philippe and his youngest son Max - as their is an article about their family in it...I did very well not drinking and sticking purely to cranberry juice that night...took some great photos and was given Philippe's details for in France....I will miss you so much!! I cant wait till you come back to NZ so I can take you on that promised road trip to Rotorua!

THURSDAY:

I went over to Yaz's to go to her mate's house to pick up Martini...we took a whole pile of photos of the kittens....Martini is another blog story later! We took Martini back to my house and from there we headed over to the shore and had lunch at Latin Larder....it was just an afternoon full of laughter, but then Justin just adds that to a day....after lunch and farewelling the big guy goodbye with a hug...we walked down to the car waving out to my boss as we went past work and drove down to the beach to show Yaz the view from work...and off to Westfield Shore City shops and went shopping. I brought a cow toy that is a puppet and it sings - it moos when its sings...its hard to explain i would have to make a video...but I got it for my sister, and I was torn between if I give it as a late Xmas present, keep it till July for her birthday or till April when she has my nephew...then mum said it should be a present for the new baby..and so it is! haha...We then went to Farmers and looked at clothes, I walked away with a halter neck top, a strapless baby doll dress and a top for mum and Yaz walked away for a black top...I said we werent leaving till she found something for herself of I would feel stink coming out with all the bags and her with none...it was a big laugh trying clothes on and showing each other....I had one top that well didnt fit me at all...it just feel off and i couldnt show her but she demanded I showed it I had to hold it up otherwise it would fall straight off....she then tried it on...hahaha...

FRIDAY:
It was a horrid day at work, my manager yet again made me wait and wasnt going to let me sign on....serious this whole eww your sick thing is pathetic! Im fine! Once I did sign on it was just a big night of arguments and I ended up leaving I had no other option but to walk out - I would have said something I would either regret or could have cost me my job...I went and cried myself to sleep in the car on the roof of work...waking up two hours later - I couldnt go home as I was taking one of my co workers home...he felt bad making me wait so long I wasnt bothered though...it felt good being able to tell him what was pissing me off at work early on...how ever once I got home I decided I wasnt going to let it ruin my good week so far...

SATURDAY:
I left uber early for work, I took my co worker in who started a few hours before I did - and went and sat out the back of Latin Larder for a good hour reading a book...before going to back to work and sitting in the bar till dinner was served and then till I was able to sign on. While I was in the bar waiting a massive moth flew in - it was amazing with gorgous markings. My boss and me were just standing there watching it...and he called a co worker over to look at it and upon doing so as i got my camera out it flew off back out the window...sadly I got no photo! It was a good night, had a great table in and with my high detail to attention and service resulted in my tip from them.

SUNDAY:

Its getting annoying at work with it so quiet and having to wait to sign on now...I miss the days of walking into work and being told to sign straight on even when Im in early...I sure hope it picks up. I went home a few hours later...I just wasnt feeling too good with a sore tummy again. I went and stopped by Latin Larder to say hello to Rob and Justin...and to see if they liked their Xmas present then headed home....I spent most of the night in bed resting...trying to bid sleep...which didnt come until 1am or later...

All in all a great week if i dont say so! And may I say - I went to Starbucks for the first time in my life during this week!! I took photos to show Ms. Jackie so she would be proud of me....shes just a Starbucks Junkie I tell you!! And while I was there I spotted something that would be cool to send her....I will have to go back and see how much they are...

This week hasnt been too bad so far. I signed up for my first ATC swap in Fiskateers and Im looking forward to it...! Ive never done one before and I had some friends from there tell me I would make some good ones...so I thought why not...I have till May to get them made by, which I pretty good, I start Uni in a month and a half time! That reminds me I need to go to the Chef shp and get the rest of my uniform for uni and all my text books too...One of my co workers has my book list and is going to see what he can sort out for me...I have got books on hold second hand with someone but they are due to leave the country and havent given me a price of what they want for them all....I can not afford them fully...most of them are a hundred or two hundred odd dollars each...sooo expensive....and once I finish uni I think I will hold off doing any more further study! At least unitl I pay off more of my student loans! Pref half of them...

I just wanted to say thanks to Fiskateers and to the lovely memebers who have sent me things in the mail...!! I realllly appreciate it...and I cant say it more than enough THANK YOU!! You really are amazing...Ive never found such a warm friendly site before...

I have a few packages that are now in transit to America for some Fiskateer friends... :o) And I know I have a few more still coming, I got one today...YAY!! I can start my Thomas pages!! And I really need to start using all the goodies Michelle sends to me...bless you Michelle your like a god sent Aunty to me!
