Week two is done and crossed off, only 102 more weeks to go and I am finished Uni!Everyday I go into Uni and on my walk to the train station to go home, I always think of the blog I will write, and now that I am here writing it I dont know what to write, Im going to have to close my eyes and imagine myself doing that walk. Well not so much my eyes themself but my minds eye.

I go to Auckland University of Technology, which is in the city of Auckland, and when I say that I mean downtown/centrl, its pretty much across the road from Auckland University. I drive to Homai Train Station and park my car in the park and ride - purely for the fact that Manurewa's train station had a cruddy two hour parking limit and I wish not to return to another clamped
wheel let alone my car being towed. So I catch the train from Homai to Britmart. From here I catch a bus up Queen street as Im lazy and dont want to walk, but its more faster to catch the bus up and do my short walked up the semi steep hill to Uni....
wheel let alone my car being towed. So I catch the train from Homai to Britmart. From here I catch a bus up Queen street as Im lazy and dont want to walk, but its more faster to catch the bus up and do my short walked up the semi steep hill to Uni....So many stairs to climb, and so many elevators - I face my phobia of them daily, and everyday it doesnt get any easier, with the phobia of elevators its brought up a bit higher when its full of people that setting off my fear of crowd, though my fear of heights is somewhat subsided, but not completly. I force myself to sit through 1-2 hour long lecturers, sometimes I can have 2-3 of these a day. Lunch time isnt my favourite time of the day at Uni, for the fact I dont know anyone yet, and well food is expensive on campus, but then the places in the city arent any cheaper - thankfully AuSM puts free feeds on at Lunch time...AuSM is the Auckland Student Movement thing at AUT. Where we get alot of discounts and free stuff etc etc...
I have grown up in Auckland I was born here, so Ive spent 2 decades living in Auckland, and I have been into the city for a number of things, but it to go to the comic book store and lunch with my sister and her husband back in the early days...or job interviews and stuff...and I know these places are here, I go past them everytime I go into the city. But its
not until I started at Uni that I really noticed the detail of these places in the city - these places being the old building, the ones that have big heavy historical protections on them, and have been converted into shops and things...these past two weeks I have had the time actaully take them all in....and its amazing how awesome they are.

g seen these things its given me a new light on it.
g seen these things its given me a new light on it.I spent the other night at Uni late working on an Assessment, and so I ended up leaving when it was dark and I havent noticed these things before, or maybe they are new, but I saw lights on the traffic light poles on the bottom towards the ground that Ive never seen before....the bright lights of the city...and how alive the city is at night still.
One thing ive noticed is the diverse cultures we have let into the country now. For a country that use to be Maori and European, there are so many different people coming here and living here. Somedays you forget your in NZ, and you feel like your in China or something....its a bit
disorienting....because you dont here a single word of English...you have a little freak out in your own city! I took my camera in and took some photos - and Im going to share them with you. I want you to see the mix of Vintage and Modern living, and the heart of the city I live in and where i study. Im sorry I havent taken any photos of things in my Uni yet but these will do for now.

Heya hunni :)
yep, bebo's dead now where I'm concerned, not that i'll waste many tears over that!!
i'm figuring out how best to do pics on mine but for the time being i've just chosen a couple of the better pics for my blog and slapped them in.
I see why you like this place so much, you can give it a real scrapbooky (if that's a word lol)feel to things :)
best of all i can put a warning up saying there might be adult content on my page and know i'm not going to get my butt busted for it if i did put anything on there.
i'm having to use the elevators at work more now, simply because i can't lug a hoover up three flights of stairs with my knees haha.
Sounds like you're finding some good things to do while you're out at Uni, and as for the multicultural part...sounds like London, with all it's little regoins like China Town, and Brick lane (Bangladeshi community)
hope you're having fun darling
